Dedicated to Bhagat Puran Singh 22nd Barsi Celebrations, the programme commenced with inauguration of Environment Awareness Rally on 2nd Aug 2014. The rally started from Hall Gate Amritsar and culminated at Ghanta Ghar. Children from all schools of Pingalwara, NCC cadets and Nishkam School participated. The rally was flagged off by the oldest Sewadar of Pingalwara Sh. Lal Bachan. All participants with play cards and banners in their hands marched through the main streets of Amritsar. They were raising the Slogans for keeping the city clean and free from Polythene menace. During the march, they distributed Pingalwara literature and cloth bags made by the patients of Pingalwara. Dr. Inderjit Kaur President AIPCS alongwith Dr. Jagdeepak Singh, S.Rajbir Singh, Col. Darshan Singh Bawa led the awareness march.
As part of the celebration A free Cancer Roko Checkup and Medical Camp was organized at Manawala Branch of Pingalwara. During the Camp Mammography & Pep Test were conducted for over 200 patients. In addition free ECG and blood Sugar Tests were also conducted. ENT & Eye Specialist also attended the patients.
Smt. Laxmi Kanta Chawla Former Health Minister inaugurated the camp. The camp was attended by Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Dr. Jagdeepak Singh ENT Specialist , Dr. Inderjit Kaur Renu Eye Specialist, Smt. Preetinder Kaur, Col. Darshan Singh Bawa Administrator, Mr. Jai Singh and Sh. Tilak Raj General Manager Pingalwara Society.
